CompuCorps Mentoring,
in partnership with The IT Department, Phibian Technologies Inc, Community Economic
Development Technical Assistance Program (CEDTAP) and Partners in Rural Development, developed
an internet-based system to manage volunteer projects online. The system
coordinate virtual volunteer recruitment and project
activities and provide training services to assist not-for-profit groups
with computer projects.
Benefits of the project include:
- system to manage and assist computer volunteers online
- system for online technical support by volunteers for not-for-profits
- recruitment and training of 100 volunteers to act as mentors
- services provided to a minimum of 25 voluntary organizations,
including organizations serving people with disabilities
- mentoring relationships developed with at least 25 voluntary organizations
