We assist charities to develop web sites,
maintain computer labs for kids, update databases and analyze their computer and internet
needs.
We are developing systems to manage technical volunteers over the internet, evaluating
programs for virtual mentoring for Canadian youth on overseas foreign aid projects and
providing a means for people living with disabilities to volunteer over the internet and
begin a transition to home based employment.

Low cost or free software
Donations from some of the top software publishers will be made available to nonprofits
for modest cost. The program plans to offer popular software packages for Windows 98 or 2000,
Macintosh or Linux. You may request special orders of a variety of titles.
We want to collaborate
with others to provide computer access, especially assisting people with low-income,
those who are disadvantaged and for those with disabilities.

Mentoring
We will recruit and match technically skilled volunteers with voluntary or community
organizations for a wide range of short-term projects. Computer volunteers will work to
solve problems and move nonprofit organizations forward with their computerization.
These efforts can further the missions that volunteers believe in, whether they are interested
in conservation, job training, arts, youth activities, teachers and schools, or animal rights.
Alternatively, it may also provide the volunteers with valuable work experience.
We will work hard
to create satisfying, well-managed volunteer experiences for both our clients and volunteers.
We stay very involved in each project to ensure its success.
Projects that mentors could complete:
- provide advice regarding new purchases
- wire offices for Internet connections
- establish good maintenance and troubleshooting procedures
- coach a staff person through a software upgrade
- help plan to build a website or make changes to an existing site
- set up a small network of computers
- train social workers, managers or teachers to use software or Internet tools

Technology Planning Assistance - TEAM Program
TEAM (TEchnology Assessment and Mentoring) is an innovative program that assists
small and medium-sized nonprofits with their technology planning and funding proposals.
During TEAM project,
staff would conduct a thorough 2-3 hours site visit gathering information and identifying
computer technology needs and priorities. TEAM staff assesses the computer hardware, software,
training, personnel and maintenance needs of the nonprofit organization.
The assessment process
results in a comprehensive technology plan outlining the technology priorities and provides
important information on costs, resources, etc. Many organizations have successfully used the
TEAM assessment as the basis for a technology fundraising effort from private donors, foundations
or government departments.
